Navy Sailor Wouldn’t Stand for Anthem… and this is what happened
A former Navy intelligence specialist refused to stand for the national anthem.
We have said “former.” Did you notice?
On Sept. 19, 2016, Ervin refused to stand for the anthem while on reserve duty at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. Her argument was that she was trying to make a statement about the persecution of blacks in America.
“I can’t stand for this song. It doesn’t represent me at all”.
Within 24 hours, she was eventually stripped of her clearance and escorted out of her secure workplace.
